Happy Saturday, everyone! I’ve been very busy recently, so I wanted to take a moment to talk a little about body positivity and a little about myself. Over the past few years I’ve fallen victim to what any man in his thirties falls victim to…low metabolism! Despite feeling the will to improve, the way I look in the mirror is often not what I want and it is more discouraging that it is encouraging. A lot of how I feel about myself negatively comes from the weight I have gained and can’t seem to will myself to lose. And when you feel down about that, it’s difficult to work on feeling better and making a change. For those of you that are not in the LGBT community, you may not know that living as a gay man has other significant body positivity contributing factors. In the gay male culture, there is a pervasive need and image of looking like an Adonis, flawless some would say, and the lack of realism and increase in high expectations are even more devastating to self-image.

On top of that, have any of you ever noticed I’m always brooding in my shots?

Well ya because it looks sexy! But also there is one other major reason: I have bad teeth! For MANY years I have suffered from weak enamel and it is slowly causing my teeth to deteriorate. Although there are ways to fix it, it has been a VERY slow and painstaking process, with only really two of my teeth looking the way I’d like so far. And with being a public figure (or wanting to be!) it’s difficult to work without being able to smile. On top of that, I’m a VERY happy person, and losing that smile is something that really makes me upset about myself as well.

However, this is my declaration for the rest of the year. 2018 will now be a year of self-improvement, and I want to bring you along for the ride. Watch the blog for posts about self-care, self-healing, and body-ody-ody positivity, as I transform from simply fashion, to full head-to-toe care (as my name implies).

Thank you for continuing to support my journey, and I look forward to inspiring more and more this year!
