Hey everyone!  It’s a new month, so it’s time to look back on my favorite things and moments from last month!  August 2018 was a fun month with lots of travel, coffee, and changes!  Check it out!

Moment

My favorite moment by far for August is the moment that I surprised my mom for her 60th birthday!  For those of you that don’t know, I am originally from the beautiful state of the CT, moved to MA for school, and have since moved to CA…for no real reason at all!  Although I do try, I sometimes don’t get back home to visit more than once or twice a year.  This year, I decided to surprise my mom by showing up for her 60th birthday dinner, and I couldn’t have been happier with the results!  She was so surprised and I’m so happy I decided to head home for it.  Definitely the highlight of the year so far!

Coming in a close second, however, would be the impromptu Disney World trip after my mom’s birthday, followed a few days later by a Disneyland trip 😉  It was a very Disney August!

TV

By far, the winner in this category is So You Think You Can Dance!  Though I have always been a fan of the show, I’ve tuned in and out sporadically over the years and lost a little bit of interest.  However, this year the dancers have REALLY caught my attention and has been on my radar!  Also, I’ll take as many chances as I can get to see a bit of Marko on the screen!

Movie

No matter what, I feel the answer to this question HAS to be Christopher Robin.  (For those that do not know, my legal name is actually Christopher Robin, and it was fed my Disney obsession and made many a story for years).  Not only was this movie amazing and close to my heart, it was also the movie I took my mom to as part of her surprise birthday weekend!  Double trouble on the emotions scale!

Music

One band I have been obsessed with from a musical standpoint, as well as an LGBTQ+ standpoint, is Years & Years.  Years & Years’ music is outstanding and they have many ear-worms that I love to sing to in the car.  I got to see them live in June and that really help cement them into my August playlist.  Everyone give them a listen!

place

Although I’m a little late on this one, I haven’t blogged officially about this place yet, and I need everyone to know!  Intentional Coffee was introduced to me by @itsdanieljae (follow him) and it is such a great coffee shop with amazing atmosphere, coffee, and service.  They host open mic nights, giveaways, and have great social media presence (@intentionalcoffee).  I highly suggest stopping by there if you get a chance while you’re in SoCal!  Great summer stop!

Game

Released in July, but played by ME in August, Octopath Traveler is my FAVORITE game of 2018 so far.  The JRPG style story and “2D 3D” – as the team has coined it – felt so natural and amazing to play!  The story for me is still in process, but having completed all of the main storylines, I continue to be excited to play even more, and hopefully see sequels and additional installments in the franchise!

Follow

Some of these may be repeats, but as I continue to grow in the blogging community, I have to continue calling out those that inspire me to grow!  Thank you:
